My partner and I would like to find some local space to grow flowers, spices and herbs, and sustainable, organic food crops. We are low-key and don't have any animals.
My name is Lauren. I grew up in the Texas countryside and spent the last several years living and working with co-ops and intentional communities. I have a modest rainy-day-fund saved for land and would prefer to buy w/ cash or finance with the property holder, though I'm also open to part-time work trades if you need a hand!
I'm sort of a Jill-of-all-trades. For most of my life, I've contributed basic work and chores to non-commercial farms while also working remote jobs in various fields of technology and renewable energy research. Before moving to WA, I spent several years helping homesteads in the Colorado high desert. I can take care of daily chores revolving around chickens and ducks, rabbits, pigs, sheep, and llamas. I know how to plant, maintain, and harvest basic food crops. I can build and reinforce animal structures and fences if you're having predator problems, help out with construction projects like greenhouses and sheds, weatherproofing, clear overgrowth, chop wood. I'm also pretty handy with fixing machines and my friends say I'm a good cook!
As soon as I know I've got a safe place to set up, I'll get my paperwork in order for a vendor booth at a farmer's market. Grow enough food to eat and cook the rest to share with whoever wants it. Set up a collapsible greenhouse for winter.
