Looking for a 1-2 year lease (at $500/month) of 1/4-1 acre of farmland for organic, no-till fruit, flowers, herbs, and vegetables.
My husband and I are interested in leasing farmland for a polyculture garden to grow a wide variety of non-perishable value-added products that can be sold at all times of the year.
My name is Valerie. My husband Daniel and I are looking for one acre of land to lease for 12-24 months to grow an organic market garden of seasonal produce for $500 a month to create Seed of Life Farm. This season we plan to grow lettuces, tomatoes, cucumbers, radish, peppers, onions, garlic, squash, specialty crops, flowers, herbs, and medicines for value-added products. We will bring our own farming equipment and would like to have a small greenhouse on-site for seedlings.
Daniel and I spent last year living and working on a ten-acre no-till organic family farm in the Sierra Nevada National Forest. During this time we gained experience harvesting and growing a wide assortment of fruits and vegetables, delivering orders to local restaurants, selling produce at farmers' markets, as well as many essential field management tasks.
Our short term plans for our farm business is to generate revenue through selling canned foods (tomatoes, salsas, chutneys, and sauces) and selling dried herbs (teas, seasonings, medicines) online year-round.
