Established specialty poultry farm, raising laying quail and ducks, is looking to move to a new location within the Snoqualmie Valley, ideally in the North Bend/Snoqualmie area. Access to a barn for storage and possible animal access would be wonderful.
My name is Ash and I am the owner of Tangled Willows Farm, currently located in Carnation. I am looking for a new location for my ducks and quail. I am not certified organic but practice sustainable agriculture and humane animal handling. I do not use any chemicals on my current property and maintain fence lines with a lawnmower and pasture with a scythe. Sustainable land stewardship is always my highest priority. I am looking for 2-3 acres within the Snoqaulmie Valley and access to a barn. I would like a year to year lease but would ideally like to farm at my next location for up to 3 years.
I began my farming career at the University of Vermont where I participated in their highly intensive and competitive dairy program, CREAM. After college I WWOOFed on farms throughout Europe and the US for 6 months then took an internship in Montana working at a sheep dairy. I graduated from the Farmer in Training program at Carnation Farms where I also have my own farm located, Tangled Willows, which has been in operation for just about 2 years.
My quail are already laying and my ducks will begin to lay this summer. I would like to secure location to move my animals to where they can resume laying once the stress from the move has subsided. I have a contract already set up to sell my eggs to a local sustainable grocery market chain.
