My name is Travis Leamer. I have been a resident of the Pacific Northwest all of my life and have developed a strong passion for regenerative agriculture and simply good food over the past 8 years. In 2018 I started a small market garden in Snohomish and have been selling at the farmers market and to a couple of small restaurants over the past two summers. Quickly, the demand for my products became way higher than what I could supply and store properly on the small space I have been working on. With space being limited, that is what brings me here in search of a piece of land to lease and perhaps someday purchase, to further develop my farm and business. I have a strong culinary background and believe that food is medicine, which has led me down the path of soil health, and nutrient density in the food that I grow, as well as creating a growing space that works in harmony with nature. I have studied Biodynamic farming, Korean Natural Farming, and Permaculture styles of farming. And I currently live in a remodeled school bus with my dog and it would be ideal to live on site, but if that's not a possibility I'm sure something could still work out! The ultimate dream is to someday own land where I can create a Disneyland for nature nerds and foodies to come experience something a little different than the normal. On the dream farm I hope to have a small restaurant and production kitchen as well to create value-added products, as well as host small, seasonal dinner events and gatherings.
I am on the hunt for a 1-5 acre parcel of land where I could develop a small farm. I am looking for the ability to have field space, a couple of greenhouses, tool and equipment storage space, a wash and pack station as well as a small walk in cooler space to store produce.
I have been farming for about 8 years now. 5 of those years were spent experimenting and self educating on regenerative agriculture, and the last three have been actual production years, selling my products.
Short term plans for the farm would be to begin developing good soil health, small amounts of infrastructure, and prepping the land to prepare for epic food production. And as far as my business, I hope to expand, creating a greater name for my products, and continuing to sell at markets, wholesale, and restaurants.
